2010 Sponsorship Opportunities

     Women's Professional Football is in its infancy.  Like their predecessors in many professional sports including baseball and football these players and coaches are out there for the love of the game.  Often this love comes with significant sacrifices.  Not only have the players and coaches committed hundreds and thousands of hours to practice but they also ask their families to help to manage the demands of everyday life while they pursue a dream.  In addition every coach and every player purchases their own equipment, provides their own transportation and lodging and incurrs the cost of that pursuit in real dollars.  In addition most teams charge each player a tryout fee ranging between $35 and $50 and a player fee between $750 and $1500 plus a requirement to provide an additional $1000 in fundraising.  In that system it will cost each player between $3000 and $5000 to play.

     The Binghamton Tiger Cats were founded with a different management style and philosophy in mind. The ownership began by contributing over $12,500 in time and personal funds to organize the team and prepare for the 2009 season.  The ownership decided not to charge any player fee, and ask that each player help attract potential sponsors to help meet the operational costs of the team.  In return each player will be given a portion of all of the sponsorship money they raise and will also be entitled to a share of gate receipts from all home games.  This model has caused an immediate stir in the world of women's professional football.  It is our ultimate goal to have players who can play for the love of the game and be recognized and paid as the athletes they are.
